The INDION Activated Carbon Filters ore intended to remove free residual chlorine (FRC) present in feed water. Granular activated carbon is used as the filter media. A range of carbon filters ore available to treat feed water up to 170 m3/h.
For removal of odour, organic matter and traces of oil, peat based activated carbon with larger pore size can be supplied on request.
Filters are compact and easy to install and maintain
The filters can tolerate any variation or shock loads in free residual chlorine unlike chemical dosing systems which require constant monitoring and adjustment of dosages
Pressure gauges at inlet and outlet are provided to measure pressure gauges across the unit. Filter backwash is carried out by reversal offlow
One vertical cylindrical mild steel pressure vessel with dished ends, painted internally with anti-corrosive epoxy point and externally with a protective coot of red oxide primer
One set of internal water distribution and collection system
One initial charge ofactivated carbon and under bed material
One set of frontal pipe work and valves
Two pressure gauges to monitor head loss across the filter
One no. bypass type rate of flow indicator at inlet (optional)
One orifice board (optional) for indication wash waterflow to be fitted in drain sump
